History

         Although there were large number of Former Soldiers in Sindhudurg district, they were spreaded. And there were no any channel to provide financial help to retired Army Soldiers at that time. So to unite people and support financially to all soldiers, Brigadier and former MP Mr.Sudhir Sawant came with an idea which is then founded as Sainik Nagari Sahakari Patsanstha.
         From this inspiration, this patsanstha registered on 5th Aug.1991. The first Chairman Mr.P. F. Dontas who was previously worked for Sahakar Department given this responsibility, and he had successfully fulfilled all responsibility from his experience & skills to strengthen the financial base of the organisation.
         Later Chairmans Cap.Ramkrishn Sitaram Gawade, Mr.Janardan Sakharam Chaukekar and O.Cap.Dinanath Lakshman Sawant all kept this progress upwards. Former soldiers and their family also brought valueable support to keep this progress graph. Therefore, today this organisation has been reached to the great success and providing different facilities and services.
         To reach all these facilities & services to more and more people, Patsanstha now has been decided to use modern technology and hence launching own website so that everyone can get the information about patsanstha on one click.
